NCHS is growing and evolving, and we recognize that fresh perspectives from individuals like you are essential to our success. As we update our strategic plan, we focus on better serving our communities, expanding our reach, and maintaining financial stability.
With our centennial approaching in 2028, we look forward to celebrating this significant milestone and envisioning the next 100 years together.
As a volunteer board member at NCHS, you play a vital role in supporting our organization. Your key responsibilities include:
- Guiding NCHS: Providing strategic direction and oversight to ensure effective mission fulfillment.
- Financial Oversight: Overseeing financial management and ensuring the organization has the necessary resources.
- Risk Mitigation: Identifying and addressing potential risks to the organization.
- Performance Evaluation: Participating in evaluating our Executive Director and board performance.
By collaborating with fellow board members, you will help shape our strategic direction through:
- Goal-Setting: Establishing objectives that align with our mission.
- Plan Approval: Reviewing and approving strategic plans.
- Strategy Development: Contributing innovative ideas for our growth.
Together, we will work to ensure NCHS has the financial resources it needs, enhance our public image, and maintain a strong and capable board. Through these cooperative efforts, you actively contribute to advancing NCHS’s mission.
Board Information:
- Volunteer position
- Up to 15 individuals serve on the Board
- Monthly meetings are on the fourth Monday
- Board terms last for three years.
- Directors must be an NCHS member.
In addition to regular board meetings, we greatly appreciate your participation in:
- Community Representation: Serving as an ambassador for NCHS through word of mouth, service organizations, and more.
- Committees: Engaging in specialized areas of work as needed
- Volunteering at Events: Participating in NCHS events, community celebrations, and parades.

The application deadline is February 7, 2025.
