About the presenter.
Karen Annexstad Humphrey grew up at Norseland-New Sweden, where she discovered her love of history at age eight when both communities and Minnesota celebrated their centennials. She is a past president of the Minnesota Historical Society and the Norwegian-American Historical Association. She currently serves on the boards of the Swedish American Historical Society and the National Lutheran Choir. Karen is the author of Grace, Faith, and the Power of Singing: The Alma Christina Lind Swensson Story; and Celebrating the Dassel Leikarring. An independent scholar, the Swedish-American Historical Quarterly has published three of her articles. Her article on Sam Haugdahl and the New Sweden Creamery was published in the Fall 2021 Minnesota History Magazine. Karen recently retired from the Minnesota Historical Society and is a consultant to the Norwegian-American Historical Association.
