Joe Metzen is a life-long Minnesota native.  He was born in Minneapolis and grew up in Northfield.  Joe went to college at University of Minnesota – Morris, earning a B.A. in history and German in 1994.  He graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1998.  Joe has resided in Nicollet County since 2009, first in North Mankato and now in St. Peter.  He lives in an older house in St. Peter with his wife, Kay, and his daughter, Cordelia.  He currently works for the Nicollet County District Court.  Joe remains interested in history, reading books about a variety of historical periods and visiting historical sites when taking a trip.  Joe and his family have been members of the Nicollet County Historical Society for several years.
